Confessions
So my boyfriend took me to see Confessions of a Shopaholic and as I was watching I realized the main character was wearing a very familiar sweater. "Oh crap", I yelled. "I have that friggin sweater!" The sweater Isla Fisher is wearing in the movie poster is in my closet. Patricia Field (costume designer) is amazing! I saw a video on myspace awhile back explaining her choices for the movie. She talks about how she picked some extremely rare/expensive pieces along with everyday streetwear. COOL BEANS! So anyway, its not one of my favorite sweaters, but I haven't thrown it away either. Its stuck somewhere between the oranges and the reds. Maybe I'll wear it one day soon.MySpace Presents: The Fit with Isla Fisher and Patricia Field

same Dress
academy AWARDS
Taraji P. Henson was my favorite of the evening. I was very disappointed when she didn't win... mainly because I wanted to see her dress again! She looked beautiful in that cream Roberto Cavalli gown. Her necklace and handbag really set it off. I wonder what shoes she was wearing under all those layers?

tory BURCH
...my new fave designer.
I love how she utilized my favorite color (in my closet), black. She mixes different textures to give "preppy" a whole new vibe. Some of my favorite looks combine studs with florals, or leather with sequins. The fall 2009 collection holds on to the original customer by reinventing the classics. Pea coats, A-line skirts, and a round-toe pump acted as fundamental basics on the Tory Burch runway. But it was the rocker style with a nautical emphasis that really made it pop. You'll see the mariner shirt and an anchor detail belt paired with multiple items. The accessories bring out the rocker in the american business woman. I love the leather gloves, leggings, and biker boots. Burch said to style.com that she wanted to "evolve our collection and push our customer". Well, if you ask me she'll succeed in that venture.

i <3 FASHION [week]
So I tried something new this time...
Instead of automatically looking at the shows of designers I know I love, I decided to browse through EVERYTHING on style.com. Fashion shows; Power Search; Seasons; Fall 2009 RTW. Without showing the name of the designer, the search will allow you to browse through all images, from each show presented at New York Fashion Week Fall 2009! Its like Fashion Roulette or somethin'. Now I know what designers I truly love. I can no longer be lured by the brand. A lot of the designers I've been loyal to didn't even catch my eye in the search. Tory Burch is definitely a new favorite, along with Rodarte & Marchesa. Yes, I know people have adored these designers for a minute now, but it just wasn't my thing back then. I learned a lot during this exercise. My style has changed a lot in the past year. I've grown up & I can't wait to go shopping (I need shoes... wish list coming soon).

vera WANG!

So I came across this wedding gown the other day while researching the designer... VERA WANG. I was just telling my friend how much a loathe the thought of wearing white on my big day (fyi: she's engaged... not me). This dress is so beautiful. I love the silhouette, the bow, and most of all the color. Its the perfect dress for me! But I really wish I could view the back....

new VOGUE
So... I'm super excited about Michelle Obama's appearance on the March cover of VOGUE Magazine. She's only the second first lady to grace to cover. This totally supports the statement previously made by moi, "she IS a fashion icon!" Our first lady remains true to her style, wearing Jason Wu on the cover and J.Crew in an editorial photo.

kitty DEBUT
So yesterday I celebrated the debut of M.A.C. Cosmetics' Hello Kitty Collection... with disappointment. The item I wanted the most was already sold out! I really hope my mom can get it for me when it's released at the M.A.C. Store tomorrow... I've been looking forward to this for awhile. So here's my wish list (in a very specific order):

Hello Kitty Purse Mirror $22 (sold out on-line)

Hello Kitty Brush Collection $49.50 (sold out on-line)

Hello Kitty Eye Shadow x4: Too Dolly $38

Hello Kitty MakeUp Bag $35
I really like the large vanity case with brush holder ($55). It's a web exclusive.

i'm HURT
So I'm sitting here watching the Grammy Awards & I am terribly disappointed. I've been anticipating the red carpet coverage all week & I didn't drop my jaw not once. I wasn't blown away by anybody's ensemble. The artists I normally look for were all M.I.A.. Where was Beyonce? Rihanna? Well apparently Rihanna is tending to her wounds, given to her by Chris Brown (E! Online) The couple skipped out on their fans, and peers, by not showing up at the event. I was planning to invoke the muse for this entry, but clearly there's just way too much drama going on. Sorry guys. Hopefully NY Fashion Week will bring me joy.

inspiration for my stilo: PCD
The Pussycat Dolls...So I'm not really a fan of their music, but I LOVE their style. I tune into every performance and every video just to see what those girls are wearing. They are ridiculously sexy and I love how each member has their own unique style. Everytime they perform, I find myself playing iSpy games. I ask myself, "Which girl is rocking the high waist? Who has a bustle on their butt? Where's the bustier?!" It seem as if those three items are staples in the PCD wardrobe. These girls inspire me to "get my sexy on"! Thanks Pussycat Dolls!! I'm off to bedazzle my leopard print bra ;-)

in Love

So I'm totally excited about these new additions to the Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Collection. Its my favorite of all the VS Collections, because it almost always boasts 4 of my fave things: Bows, Vintage, Fullness, and Contrast! Hopefully a certain someone will see this post and take these nite-time ensembles into consideration for Val Day gifts (hint, hint). Although, VS has definitely gone up in price ($28-$88 for these items), the organza fabric choices (in fig. 2) might be worth it.
polyvore CONTEST
So I got 5th place in that British Invasion contest. I'm kinda pissed about it, but whatever. Clearly people are crazy... I deserved FIRST! Check it out for yourself. http://www.polyvore.com/british_invasion/contest.show?id=44593
