Got Bored, So I Made A Dress

So I went to American Apparel & tried on a dress that looked amazing on me... too bad it cost $42!
I went to the fabric store that night, bought the fabric (on sale) for $12, and wore it to an event the next day :-)

Vitamin C

So ppl have been asking about my internship....
Its going well & I'm learning a lot. Most importantly I've learned that things don't always go as planned, but you gotta roll with it.
Here's some thing's we've worked on thus far...

Grrrreat Day!

So I know its been a really long time since I've blogged. I'm in transition... finishing school, moving in with mom, interning, and what-not. But today is a new day and I've found my creative spirit (don't ask where it was).

Any-whoo! Today was my first "offical" day as an intern for Chloe Harper @ Vitamin C Clothing. Chloe is an amazing designer & Georgia Southern Alum. I've always looked up to her... since my first sewing class. I'm really looking forward to learning & working with her.

Abercrombie (fitch & kids)!

Man, I really miss work! I love Abercrombie because they don't stray too far from the classics. But when they do, I'm never disappointed. These new denim styles from Abercrombie & Fitch and a92 [kids] are must-haves for me. #1). These semi-high waist shorts are awesome! They have more of an early 90's appeal, which I love. Normal high waist pants look weird on me because I already have long legs. These shorts will give me that sexy 1990's model look. Watch out now! lol! #2). I love the length of this skirt. I've worked at A&F for almost 3yrs now & I've never purchase the classic mini. Its just way too short for me. I will definitely be buying this one. #3). I just love zippers :-)
Luckily for me, I'm still on the roster... employee discount for me!

they're back: Jelly Sandals!

I'm sure everyone had jellies when they were kids. Those thangs were ugly & uncomfortable. Now Jellies are back... still uncomfortable, but sooo cute! Check out my faves with a wide price range ;-)

Steve Madden H-JellyB $19.95

Tory Burch "Reva" $95

See by Chloe Jelly Gladiators $125

Givenchy Lace Up Jelly $170

MY FAVORITE!!!
Vivienne Westwood for Melissa "VW Lady Dragon Love Heart" Sold Out Everywhere!!
These are amazing! They remind me of Barbie Shoes. If anybody knows where I can buy them, please let me know.

Oh the places I COULD GO!!

So... I'm a Georgia Southern University Alum! Now what? I have no clue :-(
I have so many options & its hard to make a decision. I feel like maybe I should put a big map on the wall & start stabbing it with thumb tacks. Should I stay in tha 'Boro & work in Savannah, move to Savannah... Atlanta... Houston? Or should I just get up and move to Miami?? Everyone says I should move to Atlanta & stay at home, but I don't wanna! I like being on my own. And it seems like everyone in my family has a suggestion. They say, "Move here, Work There." Sometimes I wanna go far, far away... I just wanna be happy.

uhh-huh... SEKURRRITY!!!!

So... i just got some bs in the mail stating that "commencement candidates must wear proper graduation attire... dark FLAT shoes and dress." WTFT?!! And yes, "flats" was definitely capitalized in the booklet. I'm sorry. I just can't do it. Wedges perhaps? I might even say "F that" and bust out the Rainbows or Havaianas. What are they gonna do? Tell me I can't walk across that stage?? Oh no, Ohhh ho... they're gonna have to call security to stop me. LMAO!

graduation HELP!

Hello World :-) I'm struggling with this major decision...

I bought this dress from the GAP after Christmas. Its silk and it is absolutely perfect for the outdoor occasion. I went ahead and bought it before the semester started and placed on my door to keep me motivated.

So... My graduation is May 9th and I don't know what shoes to wear! HELP!!!!

I like the BCBGirls peep-toe pump on the left & my boyfriend likes the Nine West sandal on the right. By the way, both shoes are made with a satin material (they kind look canvas in the pic). Which shoe do you guys like best? Please post a comment to tell me your preference. Thanks.

Blah!

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while... I've been totally distracted by non-fashion related school work. I need to relieve some stress. So right now, I am LMFAO @ Tameka Cottle AKA Tiny of Xscape. It all started Tuesday night while I was watching T.I.'s Road to Redemption. She & T.I. went out to eat and she wore a basic jean & tee ensemble. BUT she took a wrong turn when she grabbed a white Hermes Birkin Bag on her way out the house. I was so hurt when I saw this. THE BIRKIN BAG is not something to be carried with jeans & t-shirt, nor is it to be thrown over your shoulder! THE BIRKIN BAG is an icon!!
To Tiny's white Hermes Birkin Bag: I would never mistreat you honey. Whenever you are ready to leave, I will be here for you.

Good Job Posh! This is how its done... the right way
And the wrong way... nothing is right with Heidi & Spencer

TRENDY sandals

So I guess its officially time to buy some sandals. It has been over 80degrees all week. Today was a record high of 89degress!! I really want to buy some cute sandals and I usually try to stay away from trendy (this time of year). I don't want to have to buy sandals every year. BUT these fringe sandals are too cute!
Calvin Klein "Nonda" ($95)
Cynthia Vincent "Cree" ($200)
Both are available @ PiperLime

I found less expensive alternatives as well! Yay Me!!

McQ

Alexander McQueen's Collection for Target hits stores March 4th. I'm so excited.

Confessions

So my boyfriend took me to see Confessions of a Shopaholic and as I was watching I realized the main character was wearing a very familiar sweater. "Oh crap", I yelled. "I have that friggin sweater!" The sweater Isla Fisher is wearing in the movie poster is in my closet. Patricia Field (costume designer) is amazing! I saw a video on myspace awhile back explaining her choices for the movie. She talks about how she picked some extremely rare/expensive pieces along with everyday streetwear. COOL BEANS! So anyway, its not one of my favorite sweaters, but I haven't thrown it away either. Its stuck somewhere between the oranges and the reds. Maybe I'll wear it one day soon.

same Dress

Sarah Jessica Parker in Dior Haute Couture

Marion Cotillard in the same friggin dress
Did anybody notice that? Or is it just me??

academy AWARDS

Taraji P. Henson was my favorite of the evening. I was very disappointed when she didn't win... mainly because I wanted to see her dress again! She looked beautiful in that cream Roberto Cavalli gown. Her necklace and handbag really set it off. I wonder what shoes she was wearing under all those layers?

tory BURCH

...my new fave designer.
I love how she utilized my favorite color (in my closet), black. She mixes different textures to give "preppy" a whole new vibe. Some of my favorite looks combine studs with florals, or leather with sequins. The fall 2009 collection holds on to the original customer by reinventing the classics. Pea coats, A-line skirts, and a round-toe pump acted as fundamental basics on the Tory Burch runway. But it was the rocker style with a nautical emphasis that really made it pop. You'll see the mariner shirt and an anchor detail belt paired with multiple items. The accessories bring out the rocker in the american business woman. I love the leather gloves, leggings, and biker boots. Burch said to style.com that she wanted to "evolve our collection and push our customer". Well, if you ask me she'll succeed in that venture.

Here are some of my favorites from the Tory Burch RTW Fall 2009 collection...

i <3 FASHION [week]

So I tried something new this time...
Instead of automatically looking at the shows of designers I know I love, I decided to browse through EVERYTHING on style.com. Fashion shows; Power Search; Seasons; Fall 2009 RTW. Without showing the name of the designer, the search will allow you to browse through all images, from each show presented at New York Fashion Week Fall 2009! Its like Fashion Roulette or somethin'. Now I know what designers I truly love. I can no longer be lured by the brand. A lot of the designers I've been loyal to didn't even catch my eye in the search. Tory Burch is definitely a new favorite, along with Rodarte & Marchesa. Yes, I know people have adored these designers for a minute now, but it just wasn't my thing back then. I learned a lot during this exercise. My style has changed a lot in the past year. I've grown up & I can't wait to go shopping (I need shoes... wish list coming soon).

vera WANG!

So I came across this wedding gown the other day while researching the designer... VERA WANG. I was just telling my friend how much a loathe the thought of wearing white on my big day (fyi: she's engaged... not me). This dress is so beautiful. I love the silhouette, the bow, and most of all the color. Its the perfect dress for me! But I really wish I could view the back....

new VOGUE

So... I'm super excited about Michelle Obama's appearance on the March cover of VOGUE Magazine. She's only the second first lady to grace to cover. This totally supports the statement previously made by moi, "she IS a fashion icon!" Our first lady remains true to her style, wearing Jason Wu on the cover and J.Crew in an editorial photo.

yay ME!!!

Look what my boyfriend got me for Valentine's Day! He's so awesome!

kitty DEBUT

So yesterday I celebrated the debut of M.A.C. Cosmetics' Hello Kitty Collection... with disappointment. The item I wanted the most was already sold out! I really hope my mom can get it for me when it's released at the M.A.C. Store tomorrow... I've been looking forward to this for awhile. So here's my wish list (in a very specific order):

Hello Kitty Purse Mirror $22 (sold out on-line)

Hello Kitty Brush Collection $49.50 (sold out on-line)

Hello Kitty Eye Shadow x4: Too Dolly $38

Hello Kitty MakeUp Bag $35

I really like the large vanity case with brush holder ($55). It's a web exclusive.

i'm HURT

So I'm sitting here watching the Grammy Awards & I am terribly disappointed. I've been anticipating the red carpet coverage all week & I didn't drop my jaw not once. I wasn't blown away by anybody's ensemble. The artists I normally look for were all M.I.A.. Where was Beyonce? Rihanna? Well apparently Rihanna is tending to her wounds, given to her by Chris Brown (E! Online) The couple skipped out on their fans, and peers, by not showing up at the event. I was planning to invoke the muse for this entry, but clearly there's just way too much drama going on. Sorry guys. Hopefully NY Fashion Week will bring me joy.

inspiration for my stilo: PCD

The Pussycat Dolls...
So I'm not really a fan of their music, but I LOVE their style. I tune into every performance and every video just to see what those girls are wearing. They are ridiculously sexy and I love how each member has their own unique style. Everytime they perform, I find myself playing iSpy games. I ask myself, "Which girl is rocking the high waist? Who has a bustle on their butt? Where's the bustier?!" It seem as if those three items are staples in the PCD wardrobe. These girls inspire me to "get my sexy on"! Thanks Pussycat Dolls!! I'm off to bedazzle my leopard print bra ;-)

in Love

So I'm totally excited about these new additions to the Victoria's Secret Sexy Little Things Collection. Its my favorite of all the VS Collections, because it almost always boasts 4 of my fave things: Bows, Vintage, Fullness, and Contrast! Hopefully a certain someone will see this post and take these nite-time ensembles into consideration for Val Day gifts (hint, hint). Although, VS has definitely gone up in price ($28-$88 for these items), the organza fabric choices (in fig. 2) might be worth it.
